Molly and I went walking in Mendon Ponds, and this is the bog that has a wooden bridge the size of a small barge in the middle of it. So of course I'm lying on my stomach, on said barge, taking pictures.

Mendon Ponds in a Blizzard

Before heading to a birthday party, I wanted to take advantage of the gorgeous blizzard by stopping in at the local park. This is just to the right of the large sledding hill, which was empty this day because of how bad the roads were. As it turned out, I got my car stuck! But some friendly guys with a pickup truck, who were just traveling past, successfully pulled me out. I think the photos I got that day were worth it, though. Mendon Ponds Park, NY

Dan has a photography style all his own, and he was in possession of the camera that night. His photos make for a really interesting collage as they're of a variety of objects and people and usually with really close framing. I really like this and wanna print one and hang it on my wall when my room's done.

The Last Homely House East of the Sea

"At Lórien the lost and hopeless explorer will find rest and relaxation.” So reads the ye olde Pencil Diary, handed down from generation to generation of explorers, adventurers, and english majors. I shot this image for the 'Alice II: Image Album' liner notes to represent the Lothlórien bed and breakfast resort. However, I'm foolish, and realized that part of the reason why I picked this building was because it looked like Rivendell which, although also an Elvish house, is NOT Lothlórien. Perhaps this is my subconcious way of further blurring the lines of fiction, fitting in with the rest of the script. But more likely, I just can't keep my Middle Earth locations straight.

Avon Sunset

There's a traffic circle in the middle of town in Avon, NY. I always drove "around" it on my way to work at the museum and always thought it was a little strange. Now years and years later, I drove out there for the circle itself so I could actually walk around the park-area that I had previously driven around. The trees were lush, the grass soft, and I felt extremely relaxed. It was really a perfect summer evening in a small town's park.
